German xiangsu machinery manufacturing industry prospects
The latest report from the German association of rubber and plastic machinery manufacturers (VDMA) showed that the export growth of the rubber and plastic machinery industry in 2016 (compared with the previous year) was 5.1%, to 4.9 billion euros. New orders rose 15 per cent in the first quarter of this year, with the VDMA forecast to grow by 4 per cent to 7.7 billion euros in 2017. In 2018, it is expected to continue to grow 3 percent to 8 billion euros, albeit at a slower pace.
In 2016, the production value of global rubber and plastic machinery equipment rose 3.1 percent to 34.9 billion euros. The German rubber and plastic machinery industry grew by 6% to 7.4 billion euros, almost twice the growth of the industry's global output. The United States remains the largest importer of German rubber machinery, with imports up 7.6 percent to 774 million euros. Although China is the second largest importer of German rubber and plastic machinery, imports have fallen for the third year in a row, with imports of 629 million euros. The decline continued in the first quarter of 2017, although the VDMA did not give specific figures, but said deliveries to the Chinese market would increase in the remainder of 2017.
In the importing country of German rubber and plastic machinery equipment, Mexico replaced Poland as the third largest importer, with orders soaring by 52% to 255 million euros. The price of raw materials has increased, and in some developing countries exporting raw materials, the delivery of German rubber and plastic machinery has also shown new growth. Shipments to Russia also increased, suggesting a rebound in the Russian economy.
Overall, the global trade in rubber and plastic machinery rose by only 1% in 2016, with Germany's share rising to 22.8%, while China's share in the market fell to 14.7%. Imports of German rubber and plastic machinery also rose by 8.9% to 1.2 billion euros. In 2016, the export of German rubber and plastic machinery to South Korea surged 44.6 percent, making South Korea the top 10 importer. In Britain, the number of rubber machines imported from Germany fell by 31%.
