According to the China light industry competitiveness report (2015), China's light industry accumulated a total profit of 1.49 trillion yuan in 2015, an increase of 7.57 percent year on year. Among them, the profit of plastic products industry exceeded 130 billion yuan, accounting for 11.4% of total industry profit.

From January to April, China's plastic products industry accumulated a total value of 74.890 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 7.4%. China's exports totaled 3.17 million tons, up 6.7 percent year-on-year. Exports in April were 218.7 billion yuan, up 20.8 percent from the previous month. Import status:
From January to April, China imported 8.23 million tons of primary shape plastic, down 7.8 percent year on year. The import amount was 83.43 billion yuan, down 11.6% year on year. The average import price was 1.01 million yuan, down 4.1 percent. Imports were 22.19 million tons in April, down 10.2% from the previous month. The import amount was 22.34 billion yuan, down 8.0% from the previous month.
China imported 1.81 million tons of natural and synthetic rubber (including latex) from January to April, up 35.7% year on year. The import amount was 15.97 billion yuan, up 10.5% year on year. It imports 500,000 tons in April, down 7.4% from the previous month. Imports were 4.53 billion yuan, down 1.9% from the previous month.
